Artist's Description
This original framed art work is part of my new "Drawn to the Light" series which includes 8 originals to date, 2 of which have already sold. The sunset that back lights the dandelion and grasses creates a glow that fills a room. It reminded me of that feeling of serenity of being a child in summer lying in the cool grass at sunset and looking at the beauty from a safe and happy place.
About Janet McDonald
THE MAGIC IS IN THE MOMENT: “I paint Moments. The textured under-paintings and colours I use in my work illuminate the energy of the moments I paint. My mission as an artist is to remind us to allow the beautiful moments of our lives to wash over us. To me, this is where the magic of life resides.” Janet McDonald Nanaimo, BC based artist, Janet McDonald, works in acrylic and oils. She loves the buttery feel and blend-ability of oils to whip up a Latin or Hawaiian Dancer, and the brilliance of the acrylic colours and their quick-dry nature for wildlife. Whatever the subject matter, strong colour and light are consistent components of her unique style. Janet re-discovered her artistic talents in mid-life (now that’s a good crisis!)....

I'm glad I stop by again for I see you have another one of you beautiful backlighting paintings up here Janet. Though we both have very unique styles of our own, we both find a love in backlighting. I think you would love seeing my paintings titled Heart Tree, Coming Home, Hope, Beach Dream and Moose. All with their own unique backlighting. Those and my Dandelion Gallery. Keep up the great work Janet and I hope to see more.
