Artist's Description
This is 1/2 of a diptych of dandelions and grasses back lit by the setting sun. I find back lighting hypnotic and mesmerizing. I'm reminded of being a kid lying down in the grass and looking at the world from a bug's point of view. Very comforting somehow. This painting comes framed in a black floating frame.
About Janet McDonald
THE MAGIC IS IN THE MOMENT: “I paint Moments. The textured under-paintings and colours I use in my work illuminate the energy of the moments I paint. My mission as an artist is to remind us to allow the beautiful moments of our lives to wash over us. To me, this is where the magic of life resides.” Janet McDonald Nanaimo, BC based artist, Janet McDonald, works in acrylic and oils. She loves the buttery feel and blend-ability of oils to whip up a Latin or Hawaiian Dancer, and the brilliance of the acrylic colours and their quick-dry nature for wildlife. Whatever the subject matter, strong colour and light are consistent components of her unique style. Janet re-discovered her artistic talents in mid-life (now that’s a good crisis!)....
